3 Tips for Inclusive Hosting this Thanksgiving
We’re big Thanksgiving people here at Tomorrow Cellars. Food, family, friends, and lots of bubbly are staples at our gatherings this time of year. When we’re hosting, we want to make sure everyone is comfortable and has the right ingredients for a great time.
That means more than a few bottles of our Sparkling Blanc de Rhône and Rhône Blanc chilling in the fridge—and creating an inviting atmosphere with thoughtful details. Here’s our top three tips for inclusive hosting this Thanksgiving.
Make the Drinks Station DIY
When guests arrive, direct them to a DIY drink station instead of asking them what they’d like and serving it yourself. This way, everyone can make the choice that works for them without announcing it to the whole party. Stock your drink station with at least two non-alcoholic options alongside cocktail fixings and wines. When we’re serving our Blanc de Rhône, we love to put out fresh-squeezed juices and non-alcoholic bitters, like All the Bitter, so guests can make their own custom spritz.
It's all About the Cheeseboard
Nothing brings people together like a beautiful cheeseboard. Our top tip for creating a conversation-worthy board is to keep adding until there’s no room left! Start with about five cheese and three to four meats arranged in columns. Then add fruits, nuts, jams, and olives in and around these columns until the board is literally overflowing. It’ll be gorgeous, trust us.
Ask for Dietary Restrictions Ahead of Time
Instead of waiting for guests to reach out with dietary needs, ask for dietary restrictions on your invitations. You want to make sure everyone has something to nibble on, and if you know ahead of time, you won’t be scrambling during the event. Also consider keeping your fridge stocked with veggie sticks, dairy-free and nut-free dips, and gluten-free crackers—these essentials will help ensure there’s something for everyone.
Happy hosting!
