Wine glasses with non-alcoholic wine bottles showing 0.5% ABV label

What Does <0.5% ABV Really Mean in Non-Alcoholic Wine?

At Tomorrow Cellars, all of our wines are alcohol-removed, which means they start life as fully fermented, traditional wine—made with real grapes, real yeast, and real winemaking techniques.

After fermentation, we gently remove the alcohol, leaving behind a wine that retains its structure, complexity, and depth but none of the alcohol.

When you see the phrase “contains less than 0.5% ABV” on our bottles, it doesn’t mean the wine is alcoholic—it means there might be a trace amount left over from the fermentation and dealcoholization process. That’s because it’s nearly impossible to remove every last molecule of alcohol. But rest assured, <0.5% ABV is a minuscule amount—about the same or less than what’s found naturally in common foods:

For perspective:
A ripe banana can contain up to 0.6% ABV.
A glass of orange juice? Around 0.5% ABV.

So yes—non-alcoholic wine is virtually alcohol-free. Our wines actually typically test closer to 0.35% ABV.

What's the difference between alcohol-removed wine and 0.0% non-alcoholic wine?
You might have seen some non-alcoholic wines on the market that are labeled as 0.0% ABV. These are actually wine-inspired beverages that might be made from juice, tea, or botanical blends that haven't been fermented. These can still be delicious, they just aren't necessarily wine.

Is non-alcoholic wine safe for pregnancy?
We always recommend talking to your doctor first, but many pregnant people enjoy non-alcoholic wine as a safe, celebratory option.

Because the trace levels of alcohol are similar to what’s found in common foods, many medical professionals consider it a safe alternative to traditional wine during pregnancy. At Tomorrow Cellars, we’re proud to offer wines that support life’s most joyful moments—without the risks of alcohol.

Who is non-alcoholic wine made for?
Non-alcoholic wine is for anyone who loves the ritual, flavor, and experience of wine—but wants to skip the alcohol. That might include:

Anyone looking to cut back on alcohol without giving up the ritual or flavor of wine
Health-conscious drinkers avoiding alcohol for mental or physical wellness
• Sober curious folks cutting back without cutting flavor
• Athletes or those in training who want to stay sharp and hydrated
• Pregnant people
• Designated drivers and social butterflies who want to toast without the buzz

Whether you’re cutting back, taking a break, or simply want to enjoy a glass on a Tuesday night without the morning-after effects, our wines are made for you.

Final Sip: Why the Label Matters
That tiny “<0.5% ABV” label exists to keep things transparent—but it doesn’t mean non-alcoholic wine isn’t safe, enjoyable, or truly alcohol-free in a practical sense. It means we’re giving you the real wine experience—minus the compromises.
