The Most Versatile NA White Wine Spritz

The Most Versatile NA White Wine Spritz

Some drinks require a recipe. This one is more of a formula.

The white wine spritz might just be the easiest warm-weather drink there is: crisp white wine, something bubbly, plenty of ice and the season's best herb add-ins. It takes about five minutes, looks effortlessly impressive and is almost impossible to mess up.

Our version starts with our alcohol-removed Rhône Blanc. Its bright notes of ripe pear, honeysuckle and citrus make it a perfect base for a spritz.

The Spritz Formula

Tomorrow Cellars Rhône Blanc + Bubbles + Citrus or Fruit + Something Fresh

That’s it.

Fill a wine glass generously with crushed ice, add your Rhône Blanc and top with sparkling water. From there, make it your own.

1. Start with Tomorrow

Pour chilled Tomorrow Cellars Rhône Blanc over plenty of crushed ice. We like crushed rather than cubed because it melts uniformly.

For a wine-forward spritz, try roughly 3 parts Rhône Blanc to 1 part sparkling water. Want something even lighter and bubblier? Bring it closer to 2:1

2. Add Some Bubbles

Plain sparkling water or club soda keeps things crisp and lets the wine shine.

Or play around with an unsweetened flavored sparkling water. Lemon, lime or grapefruit are all easy wins.

3. Pick Your Fruit

This is where the spritz gets fun. Add a few slices, wheels or wedges of whatever looks good at the market—or whatever needs to be used up in your fridge.

Try:

  • Lemon for a classic, bright spritz
  • Grapefruit for something tart and slightly bitter
  • Peach or nectarine for peak summer energy
  • Strawberries for a fruitier twist
  • Orange for something softer and a little sweeter
  • Cucumber for an extra-crisp, refreshing glass

4. Add Something Fresh

Finish with an herb to make your two-minute drink feel significantly fancier.

Mint is fresh and classic. Basil is especially good with peaches or strawberries. Rosemary adds a more aromatic, savory note. Or skip the herbs altogether and let your fruit do the work.

Making Spritzes for a Crowd?

Skip the individual glasses and make a pitcher.

Add chilled Rhône Blanc, your fruit or citrus and sparkling water just before guests arrive. Save delicate herbs like mint and basil until you’re ready to serve, and add plenty of ice to each glass rather than the pitcher so everything stays cold without getting watered down.

And that’s really the beauty of the spritz: you don’t need a complicated recipe or a fully stocked bar. Start with a bottle of Tomorrow, add bubbles, raid your fridge and see where it takes you.
